Why are your prices so much cheaper than Lowe's, Home Depot or Menards?
These big box stores can get away with charging more for products such as stainless steel sinks because of their size, convienence and lack of knowledge of consumers. We are also able to maintain a much lower overhead of running a large retail building and utilities. Consumers not in the kitchen and bath industry naturally will not know about quality, gauge, type of stainless steel used etc. Most people would prefer the convienence of driving down the street to a big box store and picking one up, not knowing they are overpaying by 50%.

Are your sinks compairable in quality to Elkay, Kindrid, Kohler and Blanco?
Yes! Our sinks are of the same quality. We use the same type of high quality stainless steel as many of our competitors. There are differences in the brushed finish on the sink between all companies. There are also differences between the spray undercoating and rubber sound deadening pads. There are even companies who eliminate the cost of the spray undercoating and rubber sound deadening pads to save cost.

What type of countertops do I need to get a stainless steel sink?
Any kind of solid surface countertop will do, the most common countertop today is
granite, due to its natural beauty, durability and low cost.

What type of finish does a Global Builder Supply stainless steel sink have?
We prefer to use a heavy brushed satin nickel finish. A heavier finish on the sink will hide more scratches within the sink. A light soft finish is a simpler process and requires about half the time, and will scratch very easily. There is no caring for a light soft finish, you can be as careful as you want and it will still have heavy scratching. A heavy brushed finish is on the left and a more blurry light soft finish is on the right.

What type of stainless steel is a Global Builder Supply sink made of?
Our sinks are all made of 304 stainless steel. 304 stainless steel is the type of stainless steel used to produce the sink. 304 is the most common sink used in kitchen sinks today. There are a few lower grade types of stainless steel that some competitors will use such as a 202 or a 201 stainless steel. The difference in the steel is substantial. Your sink will be more prone to scratching and discoloration within the first few months of using the sink.

What does 18/10 nickel chromium content mean?
This refers to the mixture of chemicals used to make the stainless steel before the sink process even starts. This mixture of stainless steel will make your sink more durable and will keep the sinks high luster for the lifetime of the sink.

What is 18 gauge?
The gauge is the thickness of the sink. The lower the gauge the thicker the sink. 18 gauge is the most commonly used gauge for kitchen sinks. The higher the gauge will cause your sink to be more flimbsy and will be more proned to denting if you were to drop a dish in your sink.

What holds my under mount sink in place?
There are several methods of installing your stainless steel sink. The most reliable and most common is clips and screws that are provided with the sink (pictured below).

There are slots cut underneath the granite in which the white screw nut is inserted in the slot, and the gold bracket is fastened under your sink. The slots that are cut in the granite do not affect the durablity or strength of the granite. It is also helpful to screw a piece of wood to the front of your cabinet for the sink to rest on while you tighten up your clips and screws (pictured in photo on the left, bottom of the photo). Once your sink is installed put a thin bead of clear waterproof kitchen silicone between the granite and the sink to make sure no water gets in there (pictured below).

There are people out there that will use glue to mount your sink under your countertop. We advise against this as the weight of dishes in the sink and gravity will eventually get the better of the you.

What kind of faucet can I get with a stainless steel sink?
You can get any kind of faucet with any of out sinks. Our sinks have been specially designed to suit any customers needs!

How big of a sink base do I need for your stainless steel sinks?
You will need at least a 33" sink base. You can get by with a 32" sink base but you will need to cut little slits underneath the countertops in the cabinets on each side so the sink can slide in. These slits will not be visible to anyone unless they crawl underneath the countertop and look specifically for it. The most common sink base cabinet is 36".

Why should I choose a stainless steel sink?
Stainless steel sinks have been accepted widely as the sink of choice for kitchen
remodels. For years the cast iron sink was the number one sink found in homes. The
weight, cost and the inability to repair the porcelain chips in these sinks has made them
less favorable and have phased out of the market over time.
Stainless steel is the number one choice for sinks today. Available in both drop in and
undermount configurations, these sinks are beautiful, durable and highly functional. They
are available in many different shapes and sizes. They can be made to fit almost any
kitchen, preference or taste, indoors or out.
The cost of a good quality stainless steel kitchen sink is well within the reach of most
people considering a kitchen remodel or simply those replacing their countertops. The
plumbing company showrooms are generally the most expensive place to buy these
sinks, with stores like Lowe's and Home Depot coming in second. You can pay anywhere
from $300 on up for a sink that we sell for $75. You might wonder how this is possible?
Dealing directly with the manufacture and maintaining a low overhead allows us to
provide the lowest price possible to our customers. We also guarantee to match any
competitor price. See for yourself, go to Lowe's or Home Depot and read the description,
key features that they will make, and visually inspect the finish on the sink and compare
them to ours. You can do this fairly quickly online as well.

Why choose Global Builder Supply?
There are good internet companies online like GlobalBuilderSupply.com who offer first
class merchandise at very reasonable prices. You don't want to compromise on quality
when you are making an investment remodeling your kitchen. It is important that you
do not invest in an undermount sink online from a "fly by night" website or company.
The custom hole that is cut in your countertop for your sink is permanent. Plan aheadand look for a company with a good reputation, fast shipping and a good warranty
and return policy. Most other companies will charge up to 20% restocking fee and
have you pay the return shipping charge. Global Builder Supply does not charge return
shipping or a restocking fee.
